Catching Up

I apologize for the fact that I have not been adding new posts during the past week. I have been busy with some other projects and have not had the additional time to devote to the blog. However, I hope everyone is continuing their reading. I am "catching up" with both my reading and blogging. I hope to resume more regular blog entries next week.

  2. I have, as you know, not been writing but I do have an underlying question. During all of the old testament that we have read so far it has offerings that we should give for certain failings. Has anyone created a modern day listing? I seem to be short on goats and cows these days. It would be interesting to know what modern "gifts" we should be presenting to God.

  3. Good question...the most important thing to remember is that these offerings or gifts were imperfect, which is why they were offered over and over again. The perfect for sin was offered by Christ and therefore no additional offering is needed. However, in the New Testament we find the concept of a "living sacrifice," which is an oxy moron. But the point is that sin and death has been conquered through Christ, so we offer a our lives as a "living sacrifice," or a "sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving."
