Strengthen us, O Lord!
This week we have explored the experiences of the prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Jonah. They have taught us that nothing can prevent us from fully living into God's call for our lives - not our sin or brokenness, not doubt or fear, not even our own disobedience. So, today we pause to pray, asking God to strengthen us to persevere in our faith.
O God, for no merit on our part you have brought us out of death in to life,
out of sorrow into joy: Put no end to your gifts, fulfill you marvelous acts in
us, and grant to us who have been justified by faith the strength to persevere
in that faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and
the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
